Family Therapy

“Making the decision to have a child – it’s momentous.  It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking outside your body.”

Elizabeth Stone

Parenting is, by far, one of the hardest jobs in the world. However, despite so much raw love for our children, sometimes we get stuck in negative patterns that leave us feeling unable to connect with them, locked out of their world or unable to understand their behaviors.

In family therapy, we will focus on creating secure, attuned attachment between parents and children.

I use the model of EFFT: Emotionally Focused Family Therapy when working with families. This is a relational model of family therapy that focuses on creating connection within families to facilitate a healthy bond and secure foundation for growing young people.  This type of therapy is typically for children ages seven and older and may involve the entire family or one dyad.

Please contact me with questions about family therapy or see the resources page for Hold Me Tight, Let Me Go, a two day workshop held virtually during this time.
